VOICE TIP OF THE DAY

Saturday, May 14th, 2016:

The software we use to recognize our voice, Dragon® NaturallySpeaking, is very finicky sometimes.  I have found it LOVES big words and long technical and medical words. It's the little words Dragon® will confuse and not capture correctly. I find things like here/her, our/are, and/an, hour/our/are can be where most of my errors come from. A lot of people might say it's all in the annunciation, and they are correct...to an extent. I find the best thing to do is to create a document of small sentences using confusable small word pairs correctly and running that through your Import Documents function in Dragon®.

Here are some examples:

  1. I wanted her to feel welcome here.
  2. Here is where I think her house will be built.
  3. Our house is an hour away from our office.
  4. I think you are going to get an hour recess from our meeting.
  5. I would like an invitation to the event and party.
  6. And just so you know, an attempt has been made to reach her here.

I usually create about 20 sentences or more in each document. Do this a few times a month and you will be happy with the results in your recognition!

Happy Talking!
