ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Program Requirements

Upon successful completion of the administrative assistant curriculum, a student is educated to work as a business, legal, corporate, or executive secretary. Opportunities exist for advancement in office management. Students must take at least 12 credits each semester, but they may take as many as 17 credits.  To be eligible for an administrative assistant certificate, a student must meet the following requirements:
  1. Earn at least 36 hours in keyboarding, word processing, and other courses. The student must have a keyboarding speed of 60 net words per minute, be proficient in word processing, and successfully complete Communications, Foundations of Language and Writing, Machine Transcription Procedures, Advanced Word Processing, Procedures for the Administrative Assistant, and Microsoft Office.
  2. Achieve an overall cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 in all courses completed at the College of Court Reporting, Inc.
