Administrative Staff

Mr. Jeffrey Moody, President/Director of Financial Aid:
Mr. Moody has a B.S. degree in criminal justice from Indiana University, Bloomington. He has taken the Certified Legal Video Specialist course from the National Court Reporters Association, owns a video agency, and is a certified court reporting instructor. In addition to attending many national and state association conventions, he evaluates schools for the Accrediting Commission for Independent Colleges and Schools, and he serves periodically on the ACICS Intermediate Review Committee (IRC) for school accreditations. He is certified as a court reporting instructor by the National Court Reporters Association and has attended many professional development seminars in addition to both national and state court reporting association conventions. He is a independent certified trainer Case CATalyst®, RapidWrite Pro®, and CaseView II® and trains on other machine shorthand software programs.
 
Mr. Jay T. Vettickal, Executive Director:
Mr. Vettickal is the Executive Director and also teaches general academic courses onsite. Mr. Vettickal attended the University of Virginia and is continuing his education at Indiana University Northwest. Before joining the College of Court Reporting in 2002, he worked for firms in Washington, DC; Cary, North Carolina; and Chicago, Illinois. He has attended professional development seminars in addition to national and state court reporting association conventions.
 
Ms. Kay Moody, Director of Education:
Ms. Moody has a B. S. degree from Indiana University and her master's degree at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. She has written a speedbuilding book and researched speedbuilding teaching methods for machine shorthand. As the result of her research and involvement on educational committees, she was recently honored to be designated as a Master Certified Reporting Instructor. She has served on over 50 school evaluation teams for the National Court Reporters Association, ACCET, and the Accrediting Commission for Independent Colleges and Schools. She has presented seminars for NCRA national conventions and served on the following NCRA committees: Realtime Education Committee, Student Membership Committee, Teacher Certification, New and Expanding Markets for Court Reporters, and the Master CRI Taskforce. She served on the ACICS Court Reporting Curriculum committee and the Model Curriculum committee for AAMT. In 2001 she was selected by the National Court Reporters Association as the Outstanding Educator.
 
Ms. Lisa Morton, Director of Financial Aid:
Ms. Morton attended the College of Court Reporting and earned a secretarial certificate. She worked full time as a legal secretary. In addition to working in student services, she assists with financial aid. She attended Stenograph and Blackboard training for teaching online and the U. S. Department of Education’s financial aid workshop.
 
Ms. Jan Gornick, Financial Aid Officer:
Ms. Gornick joined CCR in November of 2006. She is responsible for processing Financial Aid requests for new students both online and onsite. Her job responsibilities include answering student’s questions and and securing the proper documentation as required by the U. S. Department of Education. Jan has a strong background in banking with many years experience in consumer lending and customer service.
 
Ms. Janet Noel, Faculty Development Coordinator:
Ms. Noel attended MacCormac Junior College in Chicago, Illinois, where she received her A.A.S degree in court reporting.  She has over 25 years of experience as a working freelance court reporter, official court reporter, and court reporting instructor.  She is a Certified Shorthand Reporter (CSR) in the State of Illinois.  She received her Certified Reporting Instructor (CRI) certification through NCRA in October of 2000.  She is a member of NCRA and ISRA (Indiana Shorthand Reporters Association).  She has been on staff at CCR for nine years.
 
Ms. Kathy Lazart, Director of Student Services:
Ms. Lazart attended the College of Court Reporting's medical transcription program and studied machine shorthand. She maintains all student records.
 
Ms. Nicky Rodriquez, Director of Admissions:

Ms. Rodriquez has a bachelor’s and master’s degree with a concentration in Sociology from Valparaiso University.  Nicole received an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice from Ancilla College.  Nicole has been an on-site and on-line instructor for the school.  Nicole teaches Modern History, Human Relations, and Culture and Society.  Nicole also maintains membership with Kiwanis International, local chamber of commerce and the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers.

 

Ms. Margie Wakeman Wells, Online Education Consultant:
Ms. Wakeman Wells has a B.A. degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and is a lifetime credentialed teacher in the state of California. Her teaching career spans over 40 years and includes high school and junior college settings. After attending court reporting school, she has taught reporting in Los Angeles since 1977, holds a Court Reporting Instructor certificate from the National Court Reporters Association, and served on the Home Study Task Force for NCRA. As a court reporting instructor, she has taught from the theory level through the exit speeds as well as English courses. She has authored exercise books on all aspects of English. She is nationally recognized in the court reporting profession as an English language expert and has presented, under the auspices of NCRA and state court reporting organizations, over 100 seminars for reporters on English-related topics. Ms. Wakeman Wells developed an online program for a court reporting school in Los Angeles and taught in and directed that program for two years. She proofreads for a court reporting firm in California.
